This fact also needs to be taken into consideration in clinic trials and research. In the first stages of research an animal model using mice is often used, but no record is usually kept of the gender of the mice. Likewise, clinical trials often involve more men than women. Researchers are just becoming aware that they need to be aware of this gender bias in their work.
